If somebody tells you that writing is an easy task, please don’t believe them. I personally thought writing a blog would be unfolding very naturally but then I came to realize that inspiration most of the time just “comes and goes, comes and goes. It doesn’t stay steady just like Nigeria’s NEPA” (NEPA stands for National Electric Power Authority)*. In my case, it is even worse: Inspiration comes and goes and doesn’t come back until a considerable amount of time has elapsed, just like electricity in Burkina in summertime; sometimes it is power-off for half a day.
A friend of mine has kept reminding me of the necessity to keep my blog running and I believe that they will be glad to see my 3rd blog article coming out the way one year after I posted the second article. To all my readers I, therefore, owe an apology. Please forgive the long delay and the tone barely amateur of this blog which may shock professional bloggers and writers. The Chinese people, when appealing for forgiveness, often say “A greater man does not make note of a lesser man's faults” (大人不記小人過, dàrén bù jì xiǎorén guò). Once again, forgive please.
In my first post, I argued that no one is winning if all our disagreements turn to conflicts or hatred. In truth, we can “disagree without being disagreeable” as Mr. Obama put it. I am saying this because the year 2011 has begun with some daunting challenges to peace in the world, seen notably throughout the crisis in Cote d’Ivoire, perhaps more visibly with the huge wage of the Arab revolution, the so-called Arab Spring. Now the situation in Libya, Yemen … combined with the old cases of Iraq and Afghanistan are continuously offering the bad sight of a race human beings bragging themselves for reaching the highest stage of the Human evolution, for being necessarily more intelligent and far way at better posture than their ancestors but, at the same time more cruel than ever at any time in history. It hurts to see innocent lives taken away for whatever reason. In my opinion, supremacist instincts, social inequality and injustice, bad politics… certainly account for much in the causing of so many troubles. Also remember that revolution is born from some people eating and sharing with others nothing but their ‘eating show’. It might seem a bit stupidly naïve to some that we wish this world could be at peace. I know… But beyond the compelling reality pushing hopelessness, PaxGentium has chosen to remain optimistic and would want to extend, once again, an invitation to all, for we make place for a peace garden to which we vow a daily care.
